The Yamaha RGX-TT Ty Tabor was designed with Ty Tabor. It has a unique raised figured maple center on a basswood body. This makes the guitar look a bit like it has a neck-through construction but it still has a bolt-on neck. The 12th position on the rosewood fretboard features a Ty Tabor inlay, the only inlay on the fretboard. The position markers are placed on the upper edge of the neck. The pickups are 2 Seymour Duncan Vintage Rails single coils and a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge position. With a push-push switch it's possible to split the coil of the humbucker. The controls are black and so is the hardware which consist of a Wilkinson VS100G vibrato and Sperzel locking tuners. The 3D headstock on this guitar has a 3+3 tuner configuration and matches the color of the raise maple center. There is also a Drop 6 version of this guitar called the Yamaha RGX TTD6 Ty Tabor Drop 6 with a 26.25 inch scale neck.
