The PRS EG4 (Series 1) is a Paul Reed Smith guitar from 1990 that has many features which makes it comparable to a (fat)strat. The body is alder, it has 2 single coils and a humbucker, a pickguard and unlike most PRS guitars it features a bolt-on neck. The EG series guitars are also the first PRS guitars that feature 22 frets instead of 24.The first series of this guitar still had carved horns albeit the overall body form was a bit more square than let's say a Custom 24. The bridge of this guitar is the well known PRS Trem. Other features of this guitar are : a Wide-thin neck, 1 Volume knob, 2 tone knobs and a 5-way switch. The tuners are non locking Schallers that are PRS marked PRS and are Made in W. Germany. Earlier models of this guitar had a PRS HFS II humbucker instead of the PRS HFS humbucker.
