The PRS CE22 Bolt-On Maple top is the 22 fret version of the Paul Reed Smith CE24 Bolt-On. The 22 fret version first appeared in 1994 and besides the difference in amount of frets it featured the covered PRS Dragon Bass and Dragon Treble humbuckers that were replaced later by the PRS Dragon Bass II and the PRS Dragon Treble II. At the same time there was also an option for a non maple top version. Until 2004 they had a black headstock when they replaced it with the maple one.
