The Peavey Vandenberg Custom is similar to the Peavey Vandenberg Signature 2. You can discern it's a Custom if you look at the pearl inlays. Instead of dots, it has Custom Vandenberg pearl inlays. The main difference is that the body is a one piece mahogany one and the guitar has the neck attached by way of a set-through construction. A combination of a set-neck and a neck-through construction. The neck profile is a bit thinner and the frets are wider. Besides an ebony fretboard, the custom also had the option for an eastern flame maple finger board. The neck pickup is a stacked hum cancelling single coil. Peavey calls this the HCS hum cancelling system. The Custom also has a coil split for the humbucker. The split can be controlled through the bridge volume pot which also functions as a push-pull knob. The Body, neck and headstock all have matching colors. The pickups are both placed at a 2-4 degree angle (parallell with the body's bottom) to eliminate the string spacing problem when Gibson pickups are combined with Fender spaced tremolos.
