The Ibanez 542R is part of the Ibanez Radius series guitars. This one was introduced in 1992 and was only available in that year. It's one of the first Radius models with a more traditional Stratocaster-like approach. The Ibanez 542R was made in Japan at the Fujigen Gakki factory and has a basswood body, an Ibanez TZ tremolo, 22 frets, on a quartersawn maple (Ibanez Viper) neck with a bound rosewood fretboard. The tuners are Gotoh Magnum locking tuners and the pickups in the HHH pickup configuration are Ibanez pickups that look like single coils. Later in 1992 the Ibanez 542R was replaced by other strat-like Ibanez models like the Ibanez R355GF and the Ibanez R334. The 21st fret features the text "Custom Made"
