The EVH Wolfgang Special is the budget version of the EVH Wolfgang USA. It doesn't have a carved top, angled headstock and isn't made in the USA. It does feature the same hardware and pickups (Made in Mexico EVH Wolfgang Specials have the same specd pickups that are made overseas). Earlier version which were made in Japan (until 2012) or China (until 2014) have dual graphite reinforcement rods, Vintage style stainless steel frets, a flat top and came with a case while later versions that are made in Mexico have nickle Jumbo frets, an arched top and lack the reinforcement rods and case. They all have either a solid color or a veneer maple top. (Not an actual maple top). The maple fretboard on the earlier models were birdseye maple while later versions only had plain maple fretboards. Other features are:
