The Ernie Ball / MusicMan Edward Van Halen is Eddie Van Halen's second signature guitar after he ended his working relationship with Kramer who made his first signature guitar. The Ernie Ball / MusicMan Edward Van Halen model together with the Ernie Ball / MusicMan Edward Van Halen Tremolo version were made between January 1990 and September 1995. An estimated 6000-7000 guitars were produced in those years. The guitar was designed by Eddie Van Halen together with Dudley Gimpel and features a bookmatched figured flat maple top with cream binding. The color of these tops are subject to quick and extreme fading. The bridge on this model is a MusicMan strings through the body hardened steel bridge and the HH pickup configuration consists of two custom Zebra DiMarzio humbuckers. The maple neck with handpicked woods has a birdseye maple grain and is bolt on to the body with five screws. Other features are:
