Schaller is the manufacturer of the Original Floyd Rose tremolo. They also made a Licensed Floyd Rose under the Schaller name. In order to meet the requirements of the patent license, Schaller used shorter clamp screws for their saddle clamps. This gives the tremolo a shorter profile. The Schaller Licensed Floyd Rose does differ from the Original Floyd Rose (OFR). The OFR has a hardened steel baseplate but the Licensed Schaller Floyd Rose has a cast baseplate with hardened steel knife edges and threaded inserts. The tremolo block is made of brass and is nickle plated.
